DYNAMIC BUSINESS PROCESS
Simply put, a dynamic process is an unstructured process. It has the power to change from one day to another. It is a very informal and adaptive process that does not have a standard way of getting things done. Typically, this involves less structured managerial decisions and activities that may follow.Social Media The dynamic business process that we chose as a group for Gucci was Social Media.
With this day and age, social media plays an absolutely huge role for an industry. Social media providers focus on attracting and targeting certain demographic groups. With the role of social media, comes the role of different communities. These communities are formed through mutual interests that transcend familial, geographic, and organizational boundaries. However, the dynamic process flows can not be designed or diagrammed. Social media has the power to fundamentally change it's balance of power among users, communities, and organizations.
Upon doing our research, we've noticed that Gucci is heavily involved in the use of social media. Gucci holds a very strong Instagram platform, with over 24 million followers and almost 5,000 posts. With such a heavily fan base, Gucci takes the opportunity to share their thoughts, collaborations, limited edition products, throwbacks, new seasonal updates, and any new products or collaborations that they plan on releasing. Gucci also uses Twitter, however they only have a 5.5 million following and just seem to keep the fans updated with articles pertaining to certain collaborations and new products that they have in store for their customers.
Problem
However, the problem lies between the fact that Gucci solemnly uses their social media platforms to advertise their products. Not that there is anything wrong with using this technique, however Gucci does not communicate with their fans on their platforms. Gucci receives tons of comments, questions, positive and negative feedback from their massive followings, however they don't communicate back to the fans through Instagram or Twitter. Their platforms aren't "fan" based, but mainly "product" based.
STRUCTURED BUSINESS PROCESS
A structured business process is a standard set of guidelines that formally provide a process that needs to be followed every single time an operation needs to be performed that typically involve day to day operations and activities such as accepting a return, placing an order, purchasing raw materials, and so forth.
Lawson
The structured business process we chose to elaborate on that Gucci uses is Lawson.
Lawson is a financial accounting software that is designed for customers who want to capture, analyze and manage any and every financial information that pertains to the chosen companies' operations. Lawson is laid out specifically to appeal to the needs of a product-centric company. It is distributed to organizations that require advanced and integrated functionally. By having all these opportunities and functions available at hand, its helps to minimize administrative overheads. Lawson optimizes the financial management process, it expands the market reach, and always allows the company to be strategy focused. This software helps Gucci drive its value by using this program to account for any budgeting, accounting, analytics, and business performances. Gucci uses the financial management software to compile a general ledger, project and activity accounting, and manage payables.
Lawson's comprehensive and integrated solutions are designed to solve financial management challenges. It features a performance-driven engine that leaves room for flexibility, security, and reliability.
Since Gucci is an international company, with corporate offices all over the world, it is highly important for the company to be constantly updated and be up to date, no matter where the office is physically located. Lawson delivers thorough and consistent financial information across the entire company.
Problem
However, the Lawson that is currently in use is very out of date. It often crashes, freezes, and you can not have too many tabs open at once if you are working on a project because the system is prone to malfunctions and may abruptly crash.
